Hi, I'm Jashawne Jenkins.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California — with a bloodline that runs back to the Mende people of Sierra Leone. That's not a fun fact to me, that's family.
Back home, a kid can be the smartest one in the village and still get turned away at the school gate over fees, a uniform or an empty stomach. So I started Hope Bloom: a volunteer non-profit that turns every dollar into a real day in the classroom.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Not yet. Hope Bloom is a volunteer project and doesn't have 501(c)(3) status, so treat your gift as a personal donation — not a write-off. I'd rather tell you straight than fake a receipt.
How do I know the money reaches the kids?
Every donor gets photos and receipts from the school run their gift paid for. Ask me any time and I'll send them.
Where does Hope Bloom work?
Right now our focus is on children in Africa, starting with areas connected to our founder's Mende roots in Sierra Leone.
Can I buy art instead of donating?
Yes. Every original painting and print purchased through afrifeena.art sends a kid to school — 100% of the purchase goes to school fees, supplies, uniforms and meals.
Who runs Hope Bloom?
Jashawne Jenkins, born and raised in Los Angeles, with Mende bloodline from Sierra Leone. It's a one-person volunteer operation with a big heart.
